Golf means something different to each of us, but for Nolan it changed his whole life.
Do you remember what you got in the game of golf? Was it Tiger Woods slipping on a green jacket? A Ryder Cup match that was on the edge of your set? Maybe it was round with his father and grandfather on Sunday afternoon? Or was it the single strike of the ball that changed everything?
For Nolan, it was a shot, a nice draw that turned his interest in the game of golf into absolute passion.
First introduced to golf by his grandfather, Nolan did not take the sport seriously. He would hit a few shots here and there, fondly and so on – many of us could relate to him when we were younger.
Armed with only four clubs in his bag, the 12-year-old made his way to GOLFTEC to learn a little more about the game. With a personal best of 100, Nolan had bigger dreams than shaving a couple of strokes away from the triple-digit number.
Nolan coach Adrian Kelly said, "He told me long ago about the process that I was ready to play big golf. I wanted to play college golf."
A lot of work had to be done to get Nolan to that level of competition. After a hard discussion about real-time, practice, and dedication to reach that level, Nolan began his mission.
Five years later, he became the equivalent of Jim Rat at GOLFTEC. He comes almost every single day, even on days when he doesn't have a lesson set with Adrian, to work on his goal.
The 100s rounds are longer in the past as he is now in his mid-upper 70s on average. The Adrian and GOLFTEC family has seen the progress of not only a great golfer but a great young man.
The thing about golf is that it doesn't matter what you've got; This game can take you down and is full of opportunities.
Nolan was fortunate that GOLFTEC entered his life at such a young age, and we were honored to be an important part of his golf story. But life can improve at any stage and if you are ready to start your own golf story, now is the right time, because for a limited time, lessons and club fittings are up to 20% off.
